When GardePro offered us the opportunity to test their Link 1.0 cellular trail camera system, we decided to put it through a real-world test here on our 30-acre Northern New York property.

We bought a $278 mini-split heat pump because of what appeared to be a pricing mistake. Installing it in our northern New York home turned out to be a considerably bigger adventure than simply mounting the unit on the wall.

How Far Can a Wi-Fi Trail Camera Really Reach?

About a month ago, we put the GardePro Link 1.0 to its first test here on our 30 acres.

We were particularly interested in the long-distance Wi-Fi capability. Our primary goal was **property security**, but we also thought a camera like this could do double duty as a wildlife camera. We wanted to know whether a Wi-Fi-based camera could actually work at the kind of distances we have to deal with here.
